MGIT Hosts Internal Hackathon for SIH 2024

The Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) recently hosted its internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024, bringing together innovative minds from across various engineering departments. The event was held over two days, showcasing cutting-edge ideas and technical prowess among the participants.

With 105 teams competing, the hackathon provided a platform for students to address real-world challenges in fields such as AI, ML, women’s safety, renewable energy, smart transportation, and traffic management. The participants demonstrated their ability to tackle complex problems through creative solutions.

  • Overwhelming Participation: A total of 105 teams, representing various branches such as CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, and Mechanical, came together to present their innovative ideas.
  • Top 45 + 5 Teams Shortlisted: Out of 105 teams, 45 teams were shortlisted to represent MGIT at the national level Smart India Hackathon 2024.
  • Industry Experts and Distinguished Guests: The hackathon was graced by the presence of industry experts, professors, and external jury members, who provided valuable feedback and judged the projects.
  • Focus on Real-World Solutions: Projects ranged from AI-based traffic management, non-electrical solar trackers, and women’s safety apps, to innovative medical systems and sustainable energy solutions.

The selected teams will now prepare for the national-level Smart India Hackathon, where they will represent MGIT on a larger platform and compete with the best minds across the country.
